Huawei WATCH D2 Launches CE-Certified Arrhythmia and Blood Pressure Monitoring Features: What Does This Technology Do?

Huawei has announced the Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis feature for its WATCH D2 smartwatch, which has received a CE Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certificate from the European Union. Furthermore, the device will also receive the Blood Pressure Management feature, based on the oscillometric measurement method, starting in October 2025.
On the occasion of World Heart Day, Huawei announced its innovations in the field of wearable technology. The company is introducing two new health monitoring features to users of the HUAWEI WATCH D2 smartwatch.
CE-Certified Arrhythmia Analysis

The Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis feature is a technology that has received the CE MDR certificate from the European Union. This feature allows users to receive early warnings against possible risks by offering the ability to monitor irregular heart rhythms, including potential atrial fibrillation risks.
Advanced Blood Pressure Management

The Blood Pressure Management feature will be available to all WATCH D2 users via a free OTA update starting early October 2025. This feature is based on the oscillometric measurement method, which is used in traditional blood pressure monitors.
The device measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure directly and provides numerical results using its built-in Ultra-Narrow Mechanical Airbag and TruSense System. This method aims to provide more concrete data, unlike PPG sensors that rely on light reflections. With this feature, users can perform scheduled measurements, all-day tracking, and nighttime measurements.
Other Health Management Features
With the update, the Health Glance feature has been enhanced to provide a comprehensive assessment covering 13 different health indicators with a single tap.
Additionally, the Health Community feature within the HUAWEI Health application has also been updated. Users will be able to share their health metrics, including the newly added blood pressure and arrhythmia data, with family members, allowing for remote health tracking and support.
